Are private saves checked?

Just being curious. Do moderators check the private saves?

We don't systematically look at these, nor get a feed of private saves being uploaded. Save IDs are sequential though, I imagine it's more likely a random user will find your save.

When we look at your profile on the website, it shows both public and private saves. It's the same list you see when you go to the Saves tab on your profile. When I'm looking at a user who was reported for some reason, I'll usually check this page to see what saves were uploaded recently, but it's just a quick skim unless I need to actively investigate the saves for some reason.

i dont see why a mod would have to if nobody is gonna see it.

    "nobody is gonna see it"

There is a certain group of about 5 players who constantly enter random or incrementing IDs and watch the saves brought in result.

I call them "save stalkers", and they annoy me, as they ruin view statistics of my quest.

Views on some of my private saves go up while I didn't give IDs to anyone. Therefore, the saves were visited by someone, therefore, that someone exists. There are more than one view, therefore, it's a group of people.

thats funny, i used to have the same standpoint until i was informed that your own saves count your own views, each and every time you open them.

    Necropost moment

It's certainly more than 5 people, one unpublished save of mine has more than 50 views. I think it's more random users picking out random save IDs and viewing them. Same people that found id:42069 and co. They're unpublished but people found it (of course id:42069 got very popular because of the ID, your unpublished saves likely won't)

As stated, your own views on a save count towards the view counter. So that's the main reason the counts on a private save would go up so high.

But there definitely are a handful of views that come from people looking at gaps in save IDs, but I wouldn't expect much, if anything, to come from this.
