Skylark started development likely in late 2008. We don't have an exact date, since the code wasn't in version control and he was doing it as a personal project.

The oldest save on the original server is from January 9th, 2009. This is around the time server development started.

Skylark shut down the server in 2010, and Simon created his own from scratch. Even though it was a different server, it's still the same game. The major change is that the drawable area was increased in size to be much wider. The oldest save on this server with a date is July 12th, 2010. I suspect that the saves going back to save ID 1 were up to 1-2 weeks older than this, but the server software was so primitive it didn't save the upload date, so we don't know.
