Hard to define. If it's a very relevant post that adds to the topic, it wouldn't be a necro no matter how long it's been. But it's nearly impossible to post a relevant update on a post older than a year.

I'd say if it's been a month or two, it's likely a necro, unless you are the original thread author that has a reason to bump it.
