So I've been wondering for a while now if it would be possible to add sound effects to powder toy. A lot of people say it isn't possible because adding sound effects would mean having a sound play for every single one of thousands of particles, causing lag and really loud and ear- exploding bursts of sound. However, I think I've come up with an alternate method of rendering sound effects that wouldn't cause lag at all and would actually be pleasant to the ears. I haven't gotten ALL the details worked out, but I should have the concept and a video explanation done by 10/19. I know that this post doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but I just figured I would put this post out there because I'm really excited about (potentially) having sound effects in this game.
I know it's been rejected before, but that was always someone asking for the idea, not explaining how it might work.
Finishing the video right now. I Will post when done. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to upload it on Tuesday.
aaaaand here it is.
