@INFINITY-BOI(View Post) And your suggestion is indeed rejected. If we wanted to, we would just remove the Feedback subforum entirely, and even still, people would complain about it and look for ways to bypass it, which would then make our job more difficult, and this is the least sensible thing to do anyway.
You are most likely just being passive aggressive towards the fact that mods/devs reject almost every single suggestion thread out there. I do understand that we are rejecting almost everything, and I kind of feel bad about it, but you also need to understand that the game has been out for more than 10 years, and it went through more than 100 updates. The game already has, let's say, 90% of all essential, fun, useful, and cool features that can be used to create so much stuff in the game. We have the feedback subforum to get ideas on how we can fill this 10% gap, but what we instead get is one of the following:
List of very basic elements: for the sake of "completion", stuff like dirt, elements from the periodic table, etc. We don't want to clog the game with useless stuff that serve no function and will almost never by used by good save creators.
Things that we can't make: because it can't be coded properly into the game with its current engine, things like movable solids, magnets, 3D, etc.
Features/elements with functions that can be replicated using other elements: I forgot to mention this one. @LBPHacker made a pretty good point about it: "we tend to try to maintain a certain level of challenge (and thus creativity) and most of what is being suggested would take away from that".
I ran out of ideas for things to add, the points above already cover most of what people suggest. The wiki has a detailed list of common rejected suggestions with reasons, can be found here
Most of those suggestions usually come from people who are new to suggesting things to add, so they aren't already aware that what they are about to suggest has been suggested numerous times and rejected for the same reasons, and they don't search for this stuff beforehand because, well, that's how "humans" work, which is why I usually don't like to blame them.
Yes, there is negligence on our part, the website could've done a much, much, much(x9) better job at guiding new users, we might be biased towards rejecting suggestions which have potential because we got used to rejecting almost everything, and slight laziness might contribute to that, but then again, devs are not paid to do their work. It would greatly help if users who actually know how to code could code their own suggestions into the game after consulting a dev, the suggestion is much more likely to be implemented into the game this way.
I'll also add an addendum to that. It is very true what @Mrprocom said at the end of his post, elements that actually get coded by users are much more likely to be added. This is why LSNS, RFRG, LDTC, and STASIS wall exist. A user decided to code the element themselves and make a pull request to the game, and we added it.
There hasn't been a suggestion in a while that made me motivated to want to add it. A lot of them are too basic, or are too OP (how many times have I seen virs-resistent or dest-resistent elements suggestion). Nearly all of them are suggested for some extremely-specific purpose, makes me feel like someone was making a save, and decided they couldn't do it because of a restriction of some element, so decided to suggest a workaround.
Anyway, I feel bad rejecting so much, but with TPT's slow development cycle and huge roster of elements, it will take a lot to motivate me to code a suggestion. Doing the code for me will definitely improve your chances of getting it merged. There's already two elements in the queue waiting to be merged for 96.0. I just want to make sure 96.0 has more than just new electronic elements before it's all ready.
There are very few outright rejected elements. It doesn't make sense to write a but to lock threads. Also they might suggest multiple elements, I don't want to lock the thread just because one suggestion was previously rejected.
Personalized responses on threads are much better than having a bot do it.
