Bug - Views counter broken

And that's pretty much it. The views counter on online saves displays 0 for recent saves, and less recent saves look like they are not increasing in view count. As far as I can tell, the server internally still works fine as new saves reach FP with 0 views, so it might just be a communications issue. Anyways, do your thing, mods! We believe in you!

this is more likely people just not viewing the saves.

How long has this been happening?

I told it to update the view counters once, I'll have to figure out why the job to update them isn't running. It's the same job that unbans people too.

Maybe it broke when I forced https on the site yesterday.

Not sure, but it must've happened within the last 24 hours. Anyways, it works now. Thank you!

No it's still broken, I just triggered a one time update lol. I can't look at the issue until I get home.

This should be fixed now. Views are updated via some archaic system that I have only limited insight into how it really works, besides the fact that forcing https on the website broke it.

https is secure, it means nobody can read what pages you are looking at or their content. http is insecure, everything is sent in plain text.

If you are at a coffee shop and go to the website (when it was just http) or play the game, someone could sniff your traffic and see everything you look at, but more importantly, steal your session keys. This would allow them to do anything to your account except stuff like change your password / email.

The login page on the website was always https secured, otherwise they could also steal your passwords. It made no sense to force http on other pages. Now it forces https :P
