It looks like the explode function was moved in a more recent version of mediawiki (I had Simon update mediawiki when updating the site)

It's disabled by default, to enable it we need to configure it: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ParserFunctions#Configuration

I checked the site source code and don't see this file, I think it's in the wiki configuration which is separate from the rest of the code, I can't edit that. Maybe there's another workaround ...

Edit: Also a bunch of other stuff in those infoboxes are broken because of the lack of string functions
