Is it still within the rule quidlines to say "Don't hate just rate? i would prefer to hear from a mod rather than members, unless you think you know the answer for sure.
Depends on the moderator, it could go towards vote farming, but it's not really saying specifically for you to rate up or down, so some moderators will leave it and some will remove the save/ban the member.
@Turban-of-Terror(View Post) Probably not since rule guidelines prevent asking people from voting up or down, asking a person to rate something is just a combination of the two illegal statements thus it would most likely be illegal. Plus people would probably feel more inclined to vote down the save.
As I am currently studying the art of psychology (In ninth grade :) ),I would agree with your statement @TYPE-LANCEL, about the viewer's mind being swayed to take negative action when rushed to make a quick descision on an undecided topic. Plus when showing a save containing that message to an audience consisting mostly of children 6-11 in age, they are usually the ones who hate what you make, for it is generally more complex than whatever they can summon up using their undeveloped brains :) As for it being illegal, I thought about as much. Thanks for the confirmation on this subject.
I have one thing to say: READ THE RULES. It does actually say. Read Save Publishing Rule 5, section 3. "- Saves may not remind people to vote. People KNOW how to vote when they like it or not." Asking for votes is reminding. Anything even mentioning 'rate' is reminding.
...Basically yeah, reminding people about votes gives you an obvious popularity advantage.
And frankly, the whole is better off if people aren't forced to make signs and reminders just to keep up with average. We really don't want Powder Toy turning into Facebook.
