Broken form of quartz. Once powdered quartz starts growing in salt water, it transforms into usual quartz. Molten powdered quartz also solidifies into quartz.

Photons passing through powdered quartz change color and direction randomly.

Creation

Quartz breaks into powdered quartz under pressure, becoming more brittle with lower temperatures. Another way is breaking quartz with damage particles, which reduce quartz to powder even with air and temperature simulation off:
