Lava Broken?? help

    i think the lava is broken because if i put some over water its turns to stone like it normally does but when i put lava on top of the stone the lava turns to stone. why??

    but even if its over 800 degrees? it shouldnt cool it the stone should be heated up then melted

    Logic fail? This is like asking why putting droplets of water on ice turns the water droplets to ice.

    Think of it this way:

    a=temperature of pond of lava(1522)
    b=temperature of pond of water(22)
    c=freezing point of lava(973)
    d(temperature transfer from lava to water)= (a+b)/2=787
    e=temperature of blob of lava(1522)
    f=total size of lava pond+blob of lava
    g(temperature of cooled lava plus blob of lava) = (d+e)/f
    g
    So the lava's temperature is lower than c. If you don't understand now you're 3yrs old or retarded.
