I extracted the powder game, opened the file in terminal and nothing opened

That's not how you run TPT (at least on Windows and MacOS) you open the zip/dmg that you download, and then you extract the zip/dmg, and you run the .exe/.app like any other app, not via terminal, it will say that it's a virus, and you (on windows) press "show more information" (or something like that, im only a part-time windows user) and press run anyways, (on MacOS) you drag the .app to your applications folder, and then you open the .app, it will say "this application is made by an unidentified developer", you close out that window, and then you CTRL+LMB and then press "open" on the .app, then, you then press "open anyways" on the popup window, and then you're playing TPT.
