linux penguin help

    Hey guys. New to the linux world. Cant for the life of me figure out how to get this installed. I downloaded the correct file (for linux). i get no download options when i click on the file like i did the other few apps ive gotten. Ive searched everywhere i can think of. Can someone please lend a hand? Thanks a million in advance

    Your question is confusing; you say you've downloaded the correct file, but you don't get "download options"?

    it downloaded a zip file, powder-linux64.zip. when i right click, i get no options to unzip, install or anything. open, share, copy, and get info are the only things i get. i open it and see the read me with all the commands, the license folder and a powder folder. if i click on the powder folder, it goes to save as screen. sorry for the confusion, but my brain is fried.

    This will be heavily dependent on whatever desktop environment you have. Gnome is pretty common so maybe you have that (I've never used it though)

    The one you want is "powder". Try dragging it into a folder somewhere, then you should be able to run it. If you still can't run it, which is likely to happen, then you'll have to open a command line and type ./powder to run it. It will then prompt to install, once "installed" it will just appear in your start menu equivalent from now on and you can launch it there.
