Could you make diamond realistic?

https://youtu.be/n0wvDwSnzcw?t=370 In this video it is shown how diamonds can be turned to CO2 via heat and oxygen. Though not super practical this would be cool.

I would like to say that the devs won't be changing diamond. This would likely break saves, and diamond is meant to be indestructible, as far as i know.

It's a good idea, and it's an interesting interaction that keeps diamond tough but not indestructible.

However, Diamond was intended, and has been used for a very long time, as a completely indestructible element. I think this was probably a mistake, but breaking saves is something we try to avoid.

We can rename DMND to something else and create a new element "diamond" though. This would have minimal breakages and allow us to do something interesting with DMND if we wanted.

I have no plans to do this, but it's just a possibility worth mentioning.

you could rename DMND to INDP (indestructible pixel) or OLDM (old diamond)

Or you can create a element named Crystal (CRYT)?

Maybe create a new element, Sapphire(SPHR), that could break and melt under only the most extreme enviroments. That would mean: 1: Destructible DMND-Like Material. 2: DMND wouldn't have to change. 3: New element. If you're looking for realism, then make Broken Diamond(BDMD) that would undergo realistic processes in the right enviroments.
