Spikeviper is a good youtuber and i can imagine he is a nice person with no bad intentions. But his popularity brigs us huges surges of newcomers replicated spikevipers... simple... style. the saves he posts are functional at least, but are not saves that should be recognised as much as they are. I am not calling him out, or saying he is bad, i am just reminding people that his saves are not very high quality.

I can agree that he gets extra votes and popularity due to his youtube fame, but that is definitely not something anyone can control. I personally think all of his front page saves have been fine. There's nothing mindblowing, but neither are 99% of TPT saves. It's the type of content I'm happy to see take a front page slot. His most recent "The Ultra Dam" save is fun to play with, even if it's a totally inaccurate representation of how a dam works (which is I think intentional).

We haven't ran the stats for 2020, but I know he did cause a noticeable bump in registrations for at least a month. I don't know if that still continues to today. This doesn't concern me, I'm actually very happy to have a bump in users again, it isn't very common to see this. I hope they come into TPT more knowledgeable about TPT from watching his videos, giving them a boost in quickly creating good saves. I can't see any reason to think users inspired by SpikeViper would be any worse than average, in fact they should be better than average because they already know how TPT works and various tricks they can use.

    Hey, it's me!

I don't mean in any way to try to "take over" the FP or similar. I have been trying to limit my posts for creations to prevent spam-like behavior, along with encouraging my viewers to do the same. As it stands, the game has helped me to rebuild my (dying) channel and see some hope on the horizon. I'm hoping that similarly, I'm helping to bring in new interest and members. Unfortunately, as with all things, a rapid influx can be hard to manage.

I find The Powder Toy extremely fun and perfect for my audience. It's a sandbox that allows anyone to create awesome things, and I hope to be a good ambassador for the community. If there is anything the admins want from me, I won't hesitate to comply.

i think any activity gained by his videos will be quickly lost, TPT isnt a game that many people like to sit down and play regularly. I think most people who join from his videos are going to make a few janky saves and then forget about it.

And presumably the same applies to people who stumble upon TPT from other methods? I think users who come to the game knowing about it in advance might be more likely to stick around, but I have no way to prove this. Either way, retention is definitely pretty low after a week or two.
