I have a simulation idea that would probably be a nightmare to program, but I'm still gonna dump it here for that slight chance of it being possible.
When this option is enabled, things that are self-oxidizing (GUN, THRM, etc) would be the only things that burn normally. Anything else requires the presence of a separate oxidizing agent like OXYG or ACID/CAUS to burn and/or corrode. This includes elements that would normally combust under pressure; it would still be possible, but still require the presence of an oxidizer. If it's not already implied, the flipside is also the case; oxidizers won't burn without the presence of something to oxidize. In addition, byproducts would be produced in these reactions, such as CO2.
This mode provides a more realistic simulation of the vacuum of space and chemical reactions in general (if one can even consider realism in a 2D game). It also provides more reasons to include self-oxidizing elements that would otherwise be impractical to include, such as solid rocket fuel.
You don't need to reply like this. You can just say that it's a good idea and that you would like to see it in the game.
Burn into CO2? Well, thats kinda nice. You can always "recycle" it to OXYG by PLNT and use IT to further oxidization. +1 ultra good idea
actually its a good idea, im with @IlikeUssr too, it can make the game more realistic. +1

Another thread by @dani_476 with some good ideas that would fit well with this.
If added, should be added only as a mod because adding O2 to almost every single combustion reaction is extremely inconvenient. OXYG is a gas that dissolves and floats away, so there might not be oxygen in certain places in certain times. If you really want that inconvenience... then sure, go for it.
