Is powder toy slowly losing members?

@CrazyEngineer: it kinda looks like it. it's very sad. now you can get like 5 up-votes to be on the front page. I posted a save 10 hours ago and it's on the second page of by date.

BTW: an online version would increase users a lot.

Well, the forum is getting less posts per day, and the quality of posts sorting by date is rapidly decreasing.

So, I guess you're right in the fact that TPT is dying.

I did the calculations and plotted them in a graph. Went as far back as my logs could go, which happened to be February 2017. I omitted Feb 2017 and May 2020 because I started logging in mid Feb 2017 and we are still in mid May 2020. Without further ado, here are the graphs, for the number of forum posts and new saves in that time period.

Make your own conclusions. As I see it, everything looks fine and consistent. Maybe there's a slight decrease, but it's not huge. Making the android port more usable, making an iOS port and making a steam version could give us a significant boost to the number of users actively playing the game, but that's up to the developers' efforts and abilities.

P.S. Google Trend results might be interesting to look at: Powder Toy on Google Trends
The community was super active back then, but when comparing the number of search results from 2017-2020, it doesn't look that bad.

Powder toy isn't written in java. And nobody is making java web applets anymore.
