I was playing with protons and thought I might add "life to him like that.

One proton spaw with a life of 680 and I wanted to add another 10 of life

Now the proton is have 670 live

now I put another proton with 670 life, if I use the command again

the current proton will have 680 of life and the previous proton will have 690 of life

you will understand my reasoning. has a way of doing such a command

I think I know what you're saying. Instead of putting life to a set value, adding an amount to it instead? If so, I don't know of any way to do this, but agree that it could be useful

Cut the protons for which you don't want to increment life and then paste them back after you have used your console command

    Or

Use prop tool to set individual proton's life.

There is no other possible way i am aware of doing this.
