Powder Toy in DSL?

DSL (Damn Small Linux) is a version of Debian (Linux), just using barely any resources (you wouldn't even believe the speed of this thing in a VM, it's faster than my host OS). Because this OS comes with barely anything installed and doesn't support some libraries (I'm pretty sure), I couldn't get it to run TPT. Also, I can't seem to install certain libraries with apt-get either (e.g. SDL) so I don't know how to compile. How should I go about getting TPT working on this OS?

it almost certainly has an sdl package, and other common packages needed to get tpt to run. It varies by distribution, the package names we suggest only work in debian and ubuntu.

There should be a way to search for packages in your package manager. Just try to find sdl 1.2 and the others in there.
