MIX tool

Frequently, when creating landscapes, people want to create dirt that's a more-or-less random mixture of two or more elements (e.g. sand/brmt for dirt). When MIX is selected, a dialog box similar to PROP comes up asking for the user to specify the elements to mix together, then on use MIX will create the specified elements with equal probability inside the cursor.

It's a very simple idea, and I know it'd be reasonably easy to do in lua, but it seems like a useful addition to vanilla TPT.

Or just put your elements and use PGRV/NGRV to mix them up.

I like the sound of the idea, I will have a look at adding this.

This is now added in the latest snapshot: http://starcatcher.us/TPT/

It is simpler than this suggestion too, and seems to allow for more control. Try it out! Just draw the powders and then use MIX on them afterwards.

Wow you even already made it faster with shift and its less glitchy than I expected and shouldnt Ctrl slow it down? At the moment it completely stops it.

Shift actually makes it swap from a farther distance away, and Ctrl from a lower distance. But that lower distance is 1 ... So the only particle it could swap with is itself.

It is a bug, probably will be fixed at some point.

It doesn't work! I found it's now in the official release, but it doesn't work. I don't get the menu that allows me to select the particles to mix.

That's because it isn't using the suggestion as described. Instead, it mixes existing powders that you place yourself. That way is a lot easier than using an interface.

It still doesn't work. I place a variety of different particles in the game area and run the mix tool over them, but it's not jumbling them up. They are just staying right where they were when I first placed them.
