Update and rescan ruined my stamps

    Hi all

I was casually playing around with powder toy until i have been notified for an update. I clicked update but then the game went crazy and wouldn't respond. So I force quitted the application and tried opening the program again but it kept crashing. I then re-installed powder toy just to find out that half of my stamps had loading errors! It was natural for me to reach for the 'rescan' button but all it did was corrupt the rest of my stamps.

Now I can't load any of my stamps!

Is there any other way than 'rescan' to recover my files?

What OS are you using? Windows? OS X?

I know the 91.0 version on OS X had issues opening saves, I wasn't aware it also had issues updating, which could be a problem ...

Also since TPT can't lose the stamp files unless you actually hit the delete button, this issue is strange to me. After hitting "rescan", are you saying that all of the broken stamps disappeared? Or that every stamp disappeared? Rescan should remove corrupted / broken stamps from the list, and find any new stamps that weren't in the list.

The reason i'm not sure if there is an issue here is because versions before 91.0 had an issue with sometimes not fully deleting stamps. It would delete the stamp file, but not remove the stamp from the list of stamps. This just left an empty space in your stamp browser. After 91.0, I made it display "Error loading stamp" or something. Also this bug might only occur when using TPTMP, not sure.

If your stamps really are missing though, you should go searching for your .stm files. To find out where they should go, click on "Open Data Folder" in simulation settings, they go in the stamps/ folder inside that.
