Powder Toy Menus Glitching/Freezing

I've downloaded the newest version of TPT on my MacBook, and every time I try to open a save, the menu starts to flicker. And it always keeps freezing and stops responding. This is making it virtually unplayable on my Mac. Please help!

Which version of OS X are you using? At least 3 of the mods did try out the mac version before releasing it, but nobody has reported it. I don't think I tried opening any saves though.

Also can you explain more what you mean by "menu starts to flicker"?

I'm currently using OS X El Capitan, the latest version (10.11.3).

And by menus starting to flicker, its as if the menus are blinking, or as if several black lines are randomly appearing all around the UI, from the element bar on the sides to pop up messages. I'm not sure how to describe it better...

weird O_o, maybe tpt doesn't like your screen, or maybe it's a sign of something going seriously wrong and causing a crash.

I also recommend that you redownload it. It might not like that you are using SDL 1.2.14 when it was compiled with SDL 1.2.15. I just thought of this, it could be the issue.

Hmm ... maybe I can try to reproduce it tomorrow. I wish this would have shown up earlier when I Was doing the snapshots.

For now, maybe you could see if some other version of tpt are working (to help narrow down when the problem was introduced)

Here is an older snapshot from a few months ago: http://starcatcher.us/TPT/Download/Older/Snapshot%203%20mac.zip
Here is my mod from today: http://starcatcher.us/TPT/mod/Jacob1's%20Mod%20ver%2033.3%20mac.zip

If my mod works then you can just use that for now.

Alright, both your mod and that older snapshot actually work.

Interesting ... I wonder where it broke at?

    More snapshots!
    http://starcatcher.us/TPT/Download/Older/Snapshot%2014%20mac.zip
    http://starcatcher.us/TPT/Download/Older/Snapshot%2029%20mac.zip
    http://starcatcher.us/TPT/Download/Older/Snapshot%2032%20mac.zip

Snapshot 14 redid the build server, and so did snapshot 29 for OS X. So maybe something there broke it.

I've got the same problem on my mac, & I'm using OSX Yosamite (vesion 10.10.2) - Don't know if that helps narrow down the problem more, but until it's solved, it's not playable on my mac either.

    -----------------------

    Something else:

For some reason, the glitching only occurs if you try to open a save that's on the front page (at least for me.)

I tried again on other saves, and checked some of mine and other people's and if they aren't on the Front Page, then it works. Also, it doesn't matter how the save is opened. If I go through and search a save id or by going through the list by date, the save opens and works unless it's on the front page.

(Edit: The problem seems to occur if the save has ever been on FP, now or in the past)

The bottom line is, that what ever the problem is, it could have something to do with the FP mechanism - I'm no programmer though so it's just a guess, but it's worth looking into.
