Please decrease the amount of ads

    Today, when I logged into powder toy, it came up with alot of VERY disturbing ads which content I am not going to mention. It has nothing to do with me- I actually have adblock which, for some reason, wont work on this website. I am very uncomfortable seeing these ads everytime I go on TPT, so... is there anything that the moderators can do about this?

    wait, into Powder Toy, or the website?

    If it's the website, then this shouldn't happen - there's a little banner ad in the top right and that's about it. Adblock Plus sucks balls by being slow, so you can replace it with EFF's Privacy Badger or Ghostery and it'll work all the same.

    If it's the game, then...how?

    Also, the ads you get served are based on your personal preferences. ;)

     Change the filter settings. Adblock Plus has default and generally not liked settings. I use Adblock in combination with NoScript and they work well together.

    Are you talking about the banner add on top, or something else? I've blocked that with adblock for a long time so don't know much about what it shows, but from what I remember it was pretty harmless. Sometimes it seems like people that go to ... certain websites get certain worse types of ads. But that's nothing we can control, and actually almost no websites out there can control what ads are displayed on them (sort of unfortunate, but ads are just decided automatically based on previous history and the ads you have previously clicked, they aren't picked by the website owners or anything).

    And no idea why adblock wouldn't work, maybe it's broken?

    AdblockPlus Waterfox 34- ads seem to be blocked from here. do you have adware on your pc?

    Either a problem with your anti-ad system or maybe you got an ad-producing computer virus? They're annoying.

    Either he/she gots a virus (reformat your mac or windows).

    I once downloaded the wrong Google Chrome it gave disturbing ads! but, I reformated my Windows 8.

    If these ads just suddenly appeared out of no-where, you probably have caught some adware. Something like malwarebytes will remove any such programs, so you should probably try that. (Note that a normal anti-virus program won't do in this case, they detect more stable viruses, rather than mal-/adware)
    (Install the free version, start it, start a scan, proceed with the given instructions.)
