Are you unable to open the zip file? You might need to download something to open it, like 7 zip, although windows is supposed to have build in zip support.

Probably on Windows, which means your laptop comes with zip archive support pre-installed. It's weird that there's no program associated with it though... Give us more information! What are you clicking? With what keys? What kind of laptop do you have? Is it nice? Are you left- or right-handed? Do you perchance like long walks?

On windows xp it doesn't have zip archive supported (I think) so download 7Zip, right click and click extract and wait.

.zip archives are standard on windows- unless you meant .7z, which is 7zip and in that case you'd have to install a seperate program. (I used to use XP SP3 and it had built in shell support for .zip)

I used to use a computer that couldn't open .zip files before, I think it was windows 7 but it might have been the older windows vista. Anyway windows is supposed to have support for zip files but just sometimes it doesn't work (probably whatever the manufacturer did to it)

ah. I don't know any good reason for a comapny to do that but that as a cause makes sense- I've been using either retail or OEM versions instead of the pre installed versions so that might have been the difference
