    How about you down the brightness on the real thing, and hope it downs on the player to. Probably won't work.

    Try using an actual video editor. Or maybe saving the file in a competent file format. Or even better, give up.

    I use a program called Camstudio for making my videos. Then I can just parse them through Windows Movie Maker to compress them (by saving them in a new format, higher quality for good measure.) and upload them to Youtube easily.

    Dare i say, get a pirated version of FRAPS?
    Oh, no not the criticism!
    I'd suggest using a video editor to bring down the brightness..

    EDIT: Btw, if you want. You could give me the simulation you want recorded. (If it is one..)
    And i'll record it for you.
