You've got the maximum amount of signs, some are layered so search the layered and removet them, the you can add new.

There are probably tons of signs, one on top the other. I think it occurs when you use stamps with signs. Just delete the crap out of the pile of signs after moving one away. (this sign can be moved back - it is so you don't have to rewrite it after the pile of signs is deleted.) I hate how signs do this.

i've just never been able to reproduce the sign stacking glitch ... and i've tried stamps a bunch of times.

Try saving locally then reload the save - that is how my last stamp pile occurred. The only way to prevent it, it seems, is to make signs delete other signs pointing to the same pixel. Perhaps this is worth a shot. It isn't that big of a deal anyway, it just takes some time to delete the signs.

I just tried a bunch more with local saves and still couldn't reproduce it ...

although I did notice that "save as current name" didn't actually save anything for local saves.

I have a thread running about this issue. It happens most of the time and is so irritating. Just remove one sign, and delete all signs underneath. Then move the original sign back to it's first place.

Ctrl + x Doesn't delete signs for me for some reason. But you might not be able to replicate it, I have a mac.

Happens sometimes, I only notice it when signs won't delete. Whats really weird (and quite rare), is when signs stack after you move them.

OMG...he actually used the word "redact" in a senctance and not for censoring. O_O
