How do I make sure a mod works correctly?

    I'm new here, so excuse anything that sounds foolish.

    I want to download (a mod) but I'm not exactly sure how to do so.

    Erm.... Just download the .exe file (there might be other files, if they are there, DON'T delete them) and launch it.
