    Speaking of name variations on irc, I noticed that my name and a few variations had already been taken when I first logged on. I don't go on it much, (actually I've been on about 3 to 4 times) so please don't expect everyone called oats to be me.

    when you first join somewhere, you have to show that you will be good and won't break any rules. If the first thing you do when you join something is spam and troll, of course you will just continue doing that, so you get permbanned. If someone that's been there a while spams / trolls though, we already know they aren't always like that so let them stay (unless they keep doing it, then they still will get parmbanned)
