 Yeah, I think it's some sort of incompatibility - turning off forge throws off the OF error, but no mods without it. Gonna use another edition, I guess.

 Edit: Optifine AA+Smooth A7 and Smooth A6 both crash the game even earlier, throwing not one, but 3 errors.

Exactly, I have:

 -- Jar mods: Modloader, Forge, Optifine, Code Chicken Core, NEI Client, Rei's minimap -- all in that order

 -- mods folder mods: Redpower all parts, computercraft, IC2, NEI redpower plugin, WRCBE all parts.
