k i'm not even sure if i have this in the right forum.... but i just had a thought. why not put Powder Toy on other gaming systems? Like, make it an app for ipods or an app for the nintendo ds, dsi or 3ds. Maybe on cd for the xbox 360, playstation 3 or other gaming systems like that. i think a lot more people would be playing it if it was available in other places besides online.... (if this is already in effect then okay ignore this but i figured i'd mention it anyways)

The creators of this game cannot do that; most people cannot just get a game on a console like that.
You could hardwire the console to run .exe files, but that requires time and know-how.

The thing is that TPT is not a commercial initiative and the aim is not to earn money nor to have as many people using it as possible. What makes TPT successful where many other open source projects fail is that it has a user base that are likely to contribute. Examples of software that may not have the same viability as open source software are many and can be found anywhere if one cared to look. Thus what TPT is today is a product of what the people who contribute wanted and to some extent what Simon wants.

The only system that might work with a watered down version is the PSP and Homebrew.

    I've got a PSP-3001, and I think there's a version of TPT for it. I can't download it though.
