Newt. Grav. improvement

Here's a very basic and simple yet very usefull (?) change. Change it so that when you reload a simulation with newt. grav. on that you turned off, it shouldn't turn back on. This might be usefull for laggy PCs. I happen to have one of those, and it's annoying that when I turn newt grav off on a city that happens to have it on (eg: That city with a taipei 101 like building) and destroy it or whatever, I want to reload and have to turn it off again.

this would be pretty useful but since this problem is known to most people I think they just haven't found why this happens (or can't fix it)

It's not because of the newt gravity itself, it's because the newt gravity updates constantly: Ex, on a very laggy save with newt grav (like a gravity nuke), if you switch to another save or turn newt grav off, it stays with the power but doesn't update, so the spot where the eg. WHOL was still makes stuff go away, but the gravity grid is not updated anymore thus no lag.

Wouldn't work too well, from what I understood from your original post.
When the save is loaded, part of the information in the save is the Newt. Grav setting.
You'd have to save more information to your hard drive about every single save you changed the option then created more lag by checking your files to see if it was set that it should be off by default for this to work.. Would probably not work so well.

The lag would only happen when the save loaded, so it could alter the save state "on the fly". That would not be a problem. It wouldn't be a "per frame" calculation that would have to be repeated.

Not save it locally, just disable it on reload. If you load another save, then load the save where you turned newt. grav. off it'll be turned on again.
