The issue I see is no one is teaching other users skills such as drawing and electronics.

You could argue that the person who is experienced had to learn it themselves, and so should everyone else.
    Both sides are valid.

I'd make an engine making tutorial, but it wouldn't be appreciated.
I'm so sick of noobs making flamethrowers and naming them 'engin', and would love to slap them and then ram a tutorial in their face, but there's just no point.

It mainly depends on who there is to teach the concept. When someone asks for assistance in a concepts some may say "go away" and others may explain.

I help others when they come to me for help (I have helped a couple through convos and tutorial saves, and some just through explanations and save examples on threads.)
Having said that, I still think your point is correct. Many just say "figure it oUt yourself"

Yes, indeed. We need a group that hands out challanges once two weeks for people to design new and better stuff. Not a group, a whole board, locked like announcements, with one unlockd topic, "Suggestions for contests"

I rarely look through saves anymore, all that's there is GoL gliders and guns. I generally just download anything interessting from the creations section.
I'm designing something innovative, but it's probably been done before

I agree with all of the posts above, and lockheed, don't even try to tell me you haven't noticed the uptick in purely copied saves recently. Things look better, I have done that to my newest M16s, but, as far as actual electronics, I have been using the same mechanisms for a few months, there just isn't the motivation any more. My most recent work is the adding of anti-copying measures to some of my saves. I do not seem to see the pioneering attitude by some of the newest members.

I am 12 and i have been playing TPT for a year orso and have learnt allot about  TPT over the months and i hate too see n00b saves (no offense to the n00bs) i feel sad when i see saves like a lump of c4 with some fire around it. Also the repetitive saves like an m16 then an m16 and somewon else's m16  its just boring people are losing imagination and so are the administrators running TPT if its not so-posted to be realistic then they should make wacky and wearied elements that know won would have thought of i dont know if im going to be on TPT much longer unless we see some imagination.
