    Like I said, because we do not understand and probably never will understand everything, tha tis impossible.

    Like I said, I don't really mind.

    Yes... see, this idea would be like doodle god... Maybe someone should make a 'doodle god' mod!

    At the OP:
    Oxygen ( or O2 ) does burn. In fact, reacting with oxygen is burning.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combustion
    Wikipedia:

    burning is the sequence of exothermic chemical reactions between a fuel and an oxidant accompanied by the production of heat and conversion of chemical species.
    /.../
    In a complete combustion reaction, a compound reacts with an oxidizing element, such as oxygen or fluorine /.../
    CH4 + 2 O2 ? CO2 + 2 H2O + energy
    CH2S + 6 F2 ? CF4 + 2 HF + SF6

    Do you see? The O2 burns, so that was just an... EPIC FAIL

    No, try to light pure O2 on fire with no other contaminants, see what happens. NOTHING.
    Burning is an oxidation process. How can oxygen oxidise itself?
    @Teking (View Post)
    No, YOU'RE THE EPIC FAIL. You know nothing about chemistry and just believe anything anyone says?

    ...and corr896 or whatever: why can't realism be fun?

    ...and code1949: Yes, but we can still use what we do know... which is a lot... making a realistic mod is not impossible.

    Poor level of discussion. Whatever, O2 is an oxidator. It can make other things burn. But it doesn't burn with itself. At Powder Toy it can burn in normal athmosphere or vacuum. On the other side you can burn things like Wood in Vacuum. Thats incorrect. You need something burnable like wood AND an oxidator like O2 to have a fire. Some substances like thermit have both includet. They would burn in Vacuum or under whater. Normaly you should have learn such things at school and don't need wikipedia for that.

    Well, i think my idea was misunderstand. Its not in my mind to make the physik realistic or so. I want to have more (realistic) combinations of substances. And maybe thats easier as it sounds. What you have to known about an substance is it properties like melting point etc. and with wich substances it can react and under what conditions it do react and if the reaction is endotherm or exotherm. And that is known! There are many databases where you can read it. It would also be posible to write a program that is reading out that informations from an real database and transform it into your game database script or whatever. So you don't have to write it manualy.
    So thats what i have in mind, you start only with elements at begining of the game (periodic system of elements). Than you have to mix them to discover more substances. That would be amazing. You can make real experiments than. And it is also funny for pyromanics, because you can mix your explosives yourselve then. You can make TNT, C4 and all that stuff by you own.

    Explain how would moding be possible? You would need access to the database to mod the elements in game.

    Actually it would Oxydize the Fire that you just spawned to Ignite the O2, so the O2 Doesn't burn, but looks like burning

    You're the Realistic Mod

    @Multikulti (View Post)
    Hey, you look like having a precise idea of what you want, how about you make it?
