You did not even start class yet, TPT is not realistic.

All of these OS X issues have now been fixed, ready for the next update.

I'm 2-3 weeks late, but tested the beta just now and it works.

    Thanks!

    -- Edit --

It works the first time you run it; the second time you run it, the issues are back ( prefs are not loaded, stamps are not loaded, etc. )

    I have no idea why.

Bump, as the issue is still not resolved.

It works the first time you run the new TPT, but after quitting that and relaunch TPT, the exactly same bug occurs.

Can you tell me what version number is in the top left corner of the game window (after the intro screen has gone)

Are you sure you are using the beta? The release still won't work at all even after using the beta.

If you are sure it's the beta, preferences should be stored in ~/Application Support/The Powder Toy (just found this out). It's a hidden folder, but maybe you could somehow check if powder.pref is in there. If it is, at least that means it's being saved. If it's not, that might be a problem.

    Edit: :c

Just redownloaded the beta and noticed it's different; it's the real 89.1 beta, and the issue is fixed.

I'm still not sure why I got 89.0 from clicking the beta button multiple times several days-weeks ago.

Was this issue ever solved? Because I just tried to download the most recent version for Mac, and I am still getting the "You don't need to install the powder toy on Mac OSX" message. I still can't access my saved stamps or saved simulations, and it always logs me out. Even though I downloaded the most recent version, 89.2, it still shows up as being 89.0...

I really like the powder toy, and this issue has made me use it less and less and less :(

Here is a photo of the window on startup.

try downloading 89.2 manually here: https://powdertoy.co.uk/Download/Build.html?ID=283

The update got removed because it didn't work (wouldn't even start) for people on older OS X versions. @Simon tried to fix it about a week ago but some of the things he tried didn't work, no idea if he ended up fixing it. He is the only one that can use a mac, nobody else has one.

Edit: probably you want whatever is in the .old ones, I didn't notice it was like that.
