@therocketeer Yea, but it's not their fault entirely. They are dragged into it by gangs and older teenagers, and their parents don't exactly help in the way they are brought up.
I understand what's happening, the effect it has, and that it's wrong and negatively affects society. However, all that said, I can't lie and say that it wouldn't be fun(don't lie, you know it would be). Also, one major point that is important to remember is that maybe, just maybe, one of these riots may become a political movement we need. Overthrow political corruption and the greedy bureaucratic political system. If politicians had done what was right, acted fast, and stopped trying to make those who fund their campaigns richer, and instead took immediate action, implementing a balanced approach of a raised debt ceiling, raised taxes, and cuts to spending(such that the effect would be more rounded) the US may not have had their credit rating lowered. If the US had done so and had an effective plan the S&P may not have lowered their credit score. However, we don't have that kind of governing bodies, and although they do work quite well, you still end up with old, disconnected, slow moving politicians. If one of these riots were to get larger, more organized, and more violent, with political aims such as implementing a better governing body/system, big changes could be made. So I can't deny the fact that sometimes this kind of mindless violence can be useful, in situations such as this where force is needed to make changes happen. Also, if you read this whole thing, sorry for the ramble :P
@Cr15py Somehow I managed to read the whole thing. Biggest post I've ever seen... Except for the old spam thread stuff.
The only issue is, the current riots will not become more organized that 'Hey u goin 2 riots @ park 2nite?' etc.as people have no idea what they are rioting for. They are basically rioting to create distractions so they could go loot places. As I've said before, they started with good intentions, but people used this to go looting, and things got out of control. I think some of the riots in London were peaceful at first, which is hard to believe when you see the fires. But, I agree, rioting probably is a bit fun. Then again, you have to think: 'Wait. I just burnt down somebody's lifelong business...'
@nmd(View Post) Look, it makes sense to raise taxes, but that just impedes recovery from this kind of thing by the average citizen. By spreading out the damage, it has less of an impact. Also, I found this. Now, just like the man in the video, I don't condone mindless violence and destruction, but I urge, I mean I URGE YOU to watch this video in its entirety! Please think about what he is saying. This is one of the top videos on youtube and this man is incredibly intelligent, despite his manner.
An Intelligent West Indian Writer/Broadcaster's Perspective on the London Riots... the BBC, as the video says, will not replay that. Despite their attempts at being neutral on topics, they are government funded and run, and this is not the kind of thing any government would want their people to hear on their own channels.
@cctvdude99(View Post) Maybe the human race should create a self-replicating Quantum-DNA computer that uses human neurons and send it populate another planet so that our DNA lives on.
