Tron205: no. There's only 723 unique colors, pretty much all white, yellow, pink, and blue. See id:2162908 . QuanTech: hi

Is there a way to turn regular RGB hex into this weird bit system?

Right, but I though one bit might represent the presence of a particular hue of red, another bit for another hue, etc. Of course it is entirely possible that I am mistaken.

No, it is groups of bits. I'd have to check the source to see the exact groups. So for example, red might be the first 9 bits, green 11 bits, blue 8 bits. Something like that. They overlap, the overlaps are orange/yellow and cyan. There are 31 bits total.

jacob1: from what I can recall, doesn't each individual bit represent a particular wavelength?

It uses a custom format, where the color is controlled by the number of bits set to 1 in certain ranges. I think it's meant to be more "realistic", but it's actually pretty terrible. I have a save about it.
