Would like to COMPLETELY remove the borders, I made this image to show what I mean.

I tried searching for 30 minutes, couldn't find anything. Anyone have any ideas? Would be open to anything, registry hacks, custom themes, doesn't matter.

    Thanks!

You should be able to. Are you using any programs to style windows currently?

I found out how to get to 1Px borders. but i cant get it any smaller than that.

RC Desktop > Personalization > Window Color > Advanced appearance settings... > Dropdown bar: Border Padding > set to 0 > OK

I found that too. Strange that Microsoft won't let us do simple things like these (tried to change startup sound before, found out the option was there in Vista but I needed to use a resource hacker to do it in 7)

sorry to go off-topic here but bchandark, what backround pic are you using? also how did you get the toolbar down the bottom to look like that?
I too tried to change the start-up sound in Windows 7 through control panel. total fail

Sorry, I didn't look at this thread for a while.

The background picture is reality by h0lm.

I used the the theme Clearscreen Sharp to make the taskbar, and I changed the taskbar icon using the http://b3nnyk.deviantart.com/art/Circl-171298865?q=&qo= start orb, but I edited the file in Photoshop to make mine glow on hover and go down in opacity when pressed down. I changed the start orb using http://kishan-bagaria.deviantart.com/art/Windows-7-Start-Button-Changer-153001999, which is a very nice tool. You don't even have to log out/log back in, just select the image file (there are specific dimensions, look at the Circl image for more information) and press Change. Finally, the icons are Dark Token (http://brsev.deviantart.com/art/Token-128429570).

EDIT: I didn't look at my screenshot when I answered, and it seems I have changed my desktop a bit since I took the screenshot.

The previous screen shot used the Soft7 theme (http://ap-graphik.deviantart.com/art/Soft7-1-8-for-Windows-7-144948406) and the regular start orb.

In case you were wondering, here's my current desktop.

I still haven't found anything, will post if I can find anything. However, I settled on the Clearscreen Sharp theme which has square corners instead of the rounded ones (see the link above)
