How do you make signs lines face particular ways???

There are options with the direction of text. That changes it.

I mean the line that branches off the sign.

its the same options, you can choose left, center or right.
it defaults on center.

when you open a new text box, you are given a very simple box. Now, undernieth your "new sign" it says "justify"; you are given three options. The options are displayed as small boxes showing the direction of the text. click on the one you think is most necessary.
