    Sorry for the noobish question, but what is the purpose of an ALU gate, what are they used for, what do they do etc.

    Arithmetic Logic Unit

    The ALU is the part of the microprocessor that handles all boolean and mathematical operations.

    it is, but i decided to turn it horizontally
    slightly smaller
    yours does, i think mine does, only in compatibility mode.

    it is, probably because it is bigger, i tried to make mine super compact, so it probably have bugs...

    Yeah, the purpose of mine is to show what is happening, and it could be a lot smaller, but that would defeat the purpose.
