Correct me if I'm wrong, but why isn't TPT (The Powder Toy) signed or published? When I am downloading and installing the TPT, and then I run it, the publisher is UNKNOWN. That is pretty risky for my computer. I remember when I downloaded an earlier version of TPT in around 2009 when it had all its elements at the bottom in coloured rectangles. When I played it, my computer restarted after 20 minutes to 40 minutes of play. Now with this new version (45.2) and the beta version (46.1) my computer restarts after only a few seconds of play.
Is there a virus deliberately put into TPT? -

NO WAY, There is definitely NO VIRUS in TPT. You can prove that your self by getting and compiling the source code here.
The computer restarting could be that your computer is crashing. How much ram does your computer have? -

What I think is that your computer is quite old, Therefore your computer finds it hard to use the newest Powder Toy. -

There is no virus in the Powder Toy, what you are describing could be caused by either faulty RAM or overheating.
The executable isn's signed because I have not purchased a software signing certificate, I have enough to pay for with just the server itself. -
