    ...Yeah. If something else is using your computer a lot then TPT will slow down noticably.

    dude, I get 60 frames and I have a Dell inspiron E510 from 2005, it has 1 gig of ram and a 1.99ghz processor.

    This is what I mean. And also, TPT is capped at 61 FPS.

    Anyways, I tried to use Windows Update, 60 updates (Important) were installed.
    No difference.
    Restarted
    No difference.
    Checked to see if there are any unessential processes, none except Norton 360, tried to stop that.
    No difference.
    I checked my DirectX version. It is still 11, and I need to downgrade it. How?
    I can't uninstall it.
    I can't change it. How do I downgrade to 10 or 9?

    Try in the task manager,
    Go to the powder toy process and set the the priority to "High"
    See if that helps.

    Setting the priority helps by increasing FPS by ~2.

    are you running with any other programs?

    how much stuff is going on in TPT when you're running it?

    IE, how much volume is used, because anything over a quarter of the screen causes lag.

    Nothing is on the screen
    No programs are open, even the Windows Explorer process.

    if you know how to use a computer and know what programs do what and how they work

    Then open task manager, go to processes and delete certain processes from the list, this may speed things up.
