The PROP tool is broken.

Every time i want to get something like DLAY to an exact temperature, i either use commands or the prop tool. When i want to have a low temperature, i set the prop tool to what the temperature is, and it ends up in the negatives somehow. I have to use 700 degrees as 300. Why?

This is because the prop tool works on the raw temperature value, which is measured in Kelvins, not Celsius.
You can either add 273.15 to your values, or even easier, put C at the end. So if you tell prop tool to set the temperature to 300C, it will actually be 300, and not 26.85 -
You can also use Farenheit.
