    If you used a LUA script to make PHOT lenses, would this be considered cgi?

    also, as a side question, does PHOT use the old circle brush shape or the new circle brush shape to calculate lenses?

    As per Rule G6.1, not if the save is not mainly about PHOT physics and lenses or something similar. So, for example, if it's just a gimmick on top of whatever else the save does. Anyway, not only is the current PHOT reflection code complicated, it's also buggy, so have fun cooking up a script for it.

    And it's Lua, not LUA.
