RKNF element

Suggested as a means to implement latent heat etc without breaking old saves.

RanKiNe Fluid is named for William John Macquorn Rankine, a Scottish polymath professor at Glasgow University (thanks wikipedia!)

This would allow all manner of fluids (ie liquids and gases) to be better modelled in TPT, where the default creation of RKNF would have characteristics the same as DSTW such as BP, the heat of fusion, heat capacity equivalent to H2O. Other effects such as dew point should also be modellable ideally.

Apparently a dev called Savask has already written code to describe "latent heat and several other things", so potentially this could be used as the basis.

To make RKNF represent other chemicals one would set the CTYPE and on doing so the code would set TMP, TMP2, etc to values that describe that elements characteristics. For instance setting CTYPE as RFDG would model real-world ammonia (perhaps?).

I am aware that the game mechanics currently involve separate TPT elements being assigned for the solid, liquid and gaseous states of a real world molecule, so this might make the use of one element to describe all states unworkable. I can foresee that the information in a TPT save might create ambiguous conditions in this case for instance.

I'm not smart enough to get it.

Ah, good I like this idea alot! Using liquid elements, setting ctypes, Tmp, and tmp2 to change behaviors is SUPER smart!!!!
