what is permalink? (lock when answered.)

    whenever I click on "permalink", it takes me to: the exact same spot on the exact same page.

    so I was wondering, what is permalink?

    It's a direct link to that specific post for someone to copy and paste elsewhere. So if I wanted to let someone go to a particular post in a specific thread, I could copy the permalink URL and send it to them.
