I agree that D and T were modeled after an "italic" typeface (see e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italic_type#Examples), while the TPT font is closer to "roman sans" albeit with a bit of sloppiness a-la Comic Sans.

I don't really understand your complaint about B though. It does look like a 6 in most fonts.
