how do you use the source code?

    how do you use the source code and run the powder toy on it? please help. I am on step 2 on the wiki page about how to code. I am not asking how to make a mod or how to download the source code, but I am asking how to compile and use the source code and run tpt with it. i am using a mac and visual studio code. bye and thanks!(:

    i am making a mod and i want to know how to run it. i can use windows, but not prefferd. 

    EDIT: i cant figure out how to test my mod and compile it for windows or mac os
