    Hello!

     

    I am very low on ideas, so I decided to make a thread where people

    could put tech ideas and as a whole share and discuss them;

    this thread will hopefully give other idea-short people ideas too.

     

    Just a few starter ideas:

    • Energy guns
    • Displays
    • Lasers
    • Small useful circuits

    Here is a random shield tech for large vessels.

    Idea: we have two major ways to push/pull elements in a large area: GPMP, PUMP
    Experiments show that it is possible to generate an area with equilibrium force because gravity and pressure have different decaying scale. Meaning that you can hold powder/liquid/gas in front of your vessel as a shield. Those particles will float and stay in a semi-circular shape if point source is used.

    However, I haven't tuned it so the shield now is quite unstable(but it works). Since I don't have time now, you can take it.

    I tried your idea; I think the behavior of gravity and pressure is different as well, so I can't calibrate the PUMP and GPMP very easily.

    BTW, have you tried the force fields mod? (Adds an element called FFGE) It generates a particle shield around it while it is SPRK'ed.

    In fact a few minutes after I type that, I tweaked my old design a bit and it works well (not perfect but stable enough to form a solid circle). So it is really possible.
    Hint 1: GPMP should be pushing, PUMP pulling as gravity decays faster
    Hint 2: don't make it too big or air sim will cause instability
    Hint 3: choose your particle wisely, not many particles are stable regardless of background gravity/air sim.
    Hint 4: position of GPMP, PUMP is important, i.e. you can force the shield to be semi-circluar.

    If you can find it out on your own, you could outright publish it with your name.
    (Of course when I publish mine like a few years later, I won't give credit to others)

    Also I am quite busy so I usually only works on techs that work without mods, otherwise not many people can see them even if I spend time on developing them.

    I got it so it maintains a circle for a second, but pretty much every sinlge powder, liquid, and gas didn't work, not counting the radioactives. I bored myself half to death testing all of the types but the only one that showed any sign of working was PSTE,

    and that was PSTE constantly switching back and fourth from PSTE to PSTS and back.
