SUGGESTIONS

HERES AN EDITED VERSION OF WHAT I WROTE:

Here are some suggestions that I would like to suggest. Please don't kill me, and here we go.

Accented and special characters for better communication. It shouldn't be a "requirement" to be able to write and read in english to use, lets say, the forum. If you really wanted to read what some people were saying, you can just use Google Translate or something. Let people speak in their preferred language. If that isn't feasible, at least change the in-game UI displays.

An indistructible conductor that isn't a wall. Okay, maybe this is useless. I am sure stupid. Although, none of the alternatives provide the same single-layer indestructible-ness as diamond. Or at least I think there isn't an alternative. Oh, and INST needs PSCN and NSCN to work so...

Special characters. This is a good enough alternative to emoji (hooray for pixelation) and can be just as useful as regular emoji. Oh and yes, I forgot to mention that you can use special characters to make kaomoji other than :) and ;D or whatever other simple variation of those. You can make something like this: (/^?^)/ [Second edit: turns out that the triangle mouth doesn't even save in the system. It shows up as a question mark.]

Website (xyz.xyz.xyz) and save id (id:xxxxxxx) recognition in comments and descriptions. A username recognition (user:xyz) would also be useful. Although you could find whatever you are looking for, copy it, and paste it in the search bar, that is just a lot of time wasted. A link system, like the ones used in signs, could be used to make looking for things easier. They would also make them *pop* in whatever text they are in.

Hopefully somebody important sees this, like a developer or someone else that has significant power in the Powder Toy system. Oh, and have a nice day!

    ORIGINAL:

Here's a short list, because I don't want to seem demanding.

    • Bold, Italics, and Underline (maybe even strikethrough)
    • Accented and special characters for better communication
    • Editing/deleting comments (just reconsider it. please?)
    • An indistructible conductor that isn't a wall
    • Emoji (probably useless)
    • Images (probably useless)
    • Website (xyz.xyz.xyz) and save id (id:xxxxxxx) recognition in comments, and descriptions(probably hard to make and useless)

Hopefully somebody important sees this, and have a nice day!

Your last 3 suggestions, are... well you said it yourself, useless. Indestructible conductor = INST. Editing/Deleting comments: people could delete their comments in the middle of a flame-war or something and make the other person look bad, plus a lot of other ways to abuse this feature. Formatting text = useless.

Can you guys be a bit more helpful replying to things like this? Not all of these suggestions are useless , in fact some are things I want. Just saying "useless" doesn't tell them why.

None of these are useless at all in my opinion. Although some are just bad ... Like emoji

Here is a more descriptive reply.
    • Text formatting: I don't know if this was talked about before, but in my opinion, I feel like formatting text (making them bold, italic, etc) in comments will make the comment section look ugly, especially when people abuse this feature and overdo it,
so it's more annoying and useful. There might be other issues with this feature that I'm not aware of.
    • Diacritics and accents: We don't encourage people to speak languages outside of English, it's even a rule not to speak other languages on the forum (link to all rules), even though it's listed in the forum rules and not in game rules, it doesn't mean it's good to speak in other languages in comments.
    • Editing comments: As @QuanTech said, it would be bad if people insulted each other and edited their comments before getting reported.
    • Indestructible conductor: This doesn't sound that bad, a dev might have to comment on this one, but until then, there are alternative methods you could use:
      • You could use TESC with a tmp value of 0 (it will still be vulnerable to things like BOMB).
      • You could open the settings menu and uncheck "Heat simulation", this will prevent elements like METL from melting (will also still be vulnerable to things like BOMB), but bare in mind that the option will reset if you clear the simulation by clicking the Erase everything button.
      • Another alternative is to surround your wires with FRME to isolate it from heat, to make it invulnerable to elements like BOMB, surround the wires with DMND (so you have FRME first, and then DMND on top of it).
    • Emojis: This will make the comment section look very ugly, and because of the type of font that is used in-game, emojis will have to be pixelated, making them very unclear. If you want to, you could always use text emoticons, those are fine, and I use them a lot :P
    • Images: Same problem, just imagine seeing this all over the comment section, and yes, this is an exaggerated example, but it will be ugly. Also imagine all the possibilities trolls could use this feature and imagine all the inappropriate images users could embed to their comments. It's also useless, as you said.
    • Clickable links and save IDs: This is a very good and useful suggestion actually, it would be nice to add this to the game, people linking their saves in comments is very common, and it's not against the rules (unless it's advertising). It would also be nice if @username could stand out from the rest of the comment somehow, it's like how it turns into a link in forum posts.

And yeah, we don't want to turn the Feedback section into a "Try to find a reason to reject this suggestion" game where everyone tries their best to find reasons to reject suggestions (even though a lot of suggestions in this forum section are rejected), being descriptive when responding is always nice.

    Great post!

I'll just add that I do want to expand the font to support other languages, we really need multiple language support. But it might be UI-only, not allowed in comments. We'd need moderators for other languages in that case.
