Insulator can block ambient heat.

Hello, I would like to see that insulator can block ambient heat but still let airpressure trough. It would be more realistic in that way.

I think this would break saves. Don't take, my answer for it.

Thanks for the reply, I dont think it will destroy save's since insulator already let air trough and blocks heat  from particle's next to it. But its a little strange when you turn abient heat on it will heat up paticles that are insulated becuase it let air trough and doesnt block its heat. What should be the purpose of an insulator hehe

@Grillbox (View Post) Insulator blocks ambient heat. Did they change it or something?

I dont know if they changed annything, I got the latest version and ambient heat isnt blocked by insulator. Ive tryed to use some titanium between but it will heat  up the titanium and the titanium will heat up the air in the isulated area again.

In the next version, insulators do block ambient heat, if you have enough of them (a single pixel isn't going to do anything). Ait pressure still goes through too.

So, sounds like exactly what you want :P

You can test the latest Beta of TPT here: http://starcatcher.us/TPT/

@jacob1, Ive tryed the beta version but I dont see ambient heat blocked by insulator. Ive created a metal core 2x2p with 3x3p insulator arround. and a clone with plasma to generate heat. But the metal core is still heated up by air. I like the new element Ceramic, Ive already some cool idea's with it. I dont know if its designed to be but ceramic stays on a certain temp depending on how much surrounding pressure.

Air and ambient heat simulates on a 4x4 grid. You can press 'g' once to see where the lines fall. There has to be an insulator in all the squares around the one you want to protect, which may take a bit of space if it isn't aligned properly.

As long as there are 8 pixels of an insulator in every 4x4 space, ambient heat can't move through it.
