Layering and ctrl-x, ctrl-v

Is there any way to layer a selection over something just by ctrl-x and ctrl-v'ing the said selection over the second place without automatically destroying the elements underneath?  I want to layer a large chunk of an element, so I don't want to do it pixel by pixel.  If not, is there a script to mass move a chunk of an element?  I tried writing one, but gave up.  I was thinking like instead of changing x and y to a particular number, just adding or subtracting a number to it.  Or it could just disable the function to get rid of the particles underneath while copy/cut pasting.

As far as I know, there is no way to layer using cut and paste.

It's easy to accomplish, sure, but the effects are most likely undesirable for the average user. If you can't see the particle on top, you should assume it doesn't exist - particle layering is simply an artifact of the particle system TPT uses.

You are correct, but I don't think you can layer 3 or more layers with protons (which I am trying to acheive).

Yes, but I am not saying that this will be usful for the general population of TPT players.  I just want (or maybe help with) a script or mod that allows this. Hint: I am going to use this for special goo animations

I found an interesting way to layer. Put some protons, then put a box of particles around it. Type in the console: !set type PROT ____
